Province Announces Funding for APAL!

The Province of Manitoba recently announced support for Asessippi Parkland Assisted Living in the form of a rent supplement on 14 units of the proposed 28 unit facility.  The rent supplement applies to suite styles D, E and F and ensures that those tenants with annual income of $25,500 or less will pay no more than 27% of their income towards rent in APAL.

"While the supplement only applies to the 'rent' portion, not the meal or housekeeping component of tenants' monthly fees, it definitely increases unit affordability for tenants and greatly enhances the overall feasibility of the facility" according to APAL Chairperson Mark Keating.  "The reduction in rent is quite dramatic in fact with annual savings in the range of $3000 to $10,000 on suites D, E, and F depending on the tenant's annual income so we expect these suites will be signed up very quickly."
