Thank You to Shellmouth-Boulton!

A very sincere thank you goes out to the RM of Shellmouth Boulton and their ratepayers for their generous support of the Assisted Living Facility.  At their recent Council meeting of March 15, 2012 the RM pledged a minimum of $30000 towards "the establishment of this much needed assisted living complex that will benefit all seniors in the Asessippi Parkland area."  The RM's generosity is a nice boost to our fundraising campaign and sets the bar for additional contributions from neighbouring municipalities.

Interest strong - over 1/3 sold!

A senior life lease condominium development in Russell already has
commitments for over one-third of the units just weeks after going on sale.
The 36-unit assisting living complex that will be built on the community¹s
Main Street will offer area seniors an enhanced level of housing that fits
the need between living a fully independent life and personal care service.
Preliminary budgets and layouts have been done for the facility, and the
Board of Directors of the non-profit organization promoting the project has
hired local realtors to sell the units. A minimum of 31 of the 36 units need
to be sold in the next seven weeks in order for construction to start on May
1.
The 14 one-bedroom and 22 two-bedroom units range in size from 590 to 1055
sq. ft. The complex is located centrally with access to town services and
amenities. The key to the facility is that it will offer meals and
housekeeping to residents in the monthly rent.
"We believe that the senior population of the Asessippi Parkland area
deserves local affordable housing options and supportive services that
promote aging in place and maximize their overall health and well-being
through a safe, secure and flexible environment," said Committee chairperson
Bob Schmidt.
Russell is a community that boasts a vibrant business district, along with
many health care services that many smaller communities can¹t offer.
A recent expansion to the Russell District Hospital added a chemotherapy
unit and a dialysis unit to serve the area.
Chiropractic, dental and optometric services are available in the community,
and a modern pharmacy allows for prescriptions to be filled.
Sales inquires should be directed to Andrew Agencies in Russell, 773-2640.

Glenn and Terry Jackson proudly present a check for $5000 to committee member Raymond Bomback in support of the Assisted Living Project.  Glenn and Terry recognize the need for such a facility in the area and the considerable value it would bring to all area residents.

Suite Sales Thus Far Are ... Sweet!

Doug and Angie have been very busy since the sales campaign officially kicked off just over a week ago, having achieved 25% of our total sales goal already!  There has been keen interest in each of the 6 different suite layouts - proof positive of MMP Architects' great design work for the committee and also solid confirmation of the facility's affordability to the entire community.

The Sales Team plans on hosting public meetings throughout the area in the coming days and weeks; if you would like to see a meeting in your community please give us a call.  Keep checking in here to keep up to date!
